ard Lawrenco Peck whom he
had never seen or heurd of

and handsomo, Richard writes,
and comes from Iowa.
He evon looks like a Peck,
the Klamath boy says, adding:
"Some coincidence, what?"

1 had been missing letters
from hit mother, and wai be
coming cynical as to tha effi
ciency of Uncle Sam's postal
service. Then one day, pinned
to a jacket that had come
back to him from the cleaner,
ha found the missing letters,
and It wasn't his Jacket.
So he started a search and
in the course of time found
Richard Lawrence Peck No. 2,
who is attached to a landing
boat crew and had been look
ing for the boy whose letters
were being delivered to him.

this week was Ray Jorome Mc
Elroy. Ha Is home on a 14-duy
furlough before transfer to San
Diego on July 28 for basic train
ing. McElroy was graduated
from Bend high school In 1941.
When Inducted he was employed
by the Coca Cola bottling com
pany In Klamath Falls. He is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Mc
Elroy of 632 North Tenth.

Lester Earl Dunn and Weston;
Scott Smith are privates In the;
marine corps. They entered last'
week at Portland, according to
Sergeant Lester Finley of the,
local recruiting office. Both are
In Klamath Falls on furlough be
fore transfer to San Diego for
training.
- Dunn attended Klamath Union
high school for two years and,
has been working for the atato
highway department in southern
Oregon. His wife and two-months-old
son live at 1867 Gary
street, Klamath Falls.
Smith was a Southern Taciflc
clerk who played freshman bas
ketball and baseball at the Uni
versity of Oregon In 1839. His
wife lives at 304, 'Marlon apart
ments, Klamath Falls.
FORT KNOX, Ky. Among
the thousands of selectees now
entering the armed forces, one
Klamath Falls man has entered
the armored force replacement
training center for his basic
training In tho newest and hardest-hitting
branch of the army.
