Boosts Dividend
SAN FRANCISCO, June 4 (JP)
Pacific Telephone and Telegraph
company raised the ' quarterly
dividend to $1.50 a share on
common stock for the payment
due June 30 to equity owners
of record June 16. The company
had paid $1.25 a share in three
preceding quarters. The . com
pany will pay the regular quar
terly $1.50 on preferred stock
July 15, record June 30.

good demand developed for
wheat today and prices advanced
nearly 2 cents at one time before
running into realizing sales. Oats
were steady but rye dropped be
low yesterday s closing quota-
tions when heavy profit taking
erased gains which had sent the
grain to new six year peaks.
Private crop forecasts that
Kansas production this year
would be about 150.000,000 bush
els against 206,000,000 bushels
harvested in 1942 spurred the
upturn.
Wheat closed 1-19 cent higher,
July $1,543, September $1,453-9,
corn was unchanged, July $1.05,
oats were up l-9c and rye drop
ped 9-tc.

Net Income for the first four
months of this year went up to
