OMAHA TRIP
Mae K. Short, Klamath coun
ty clerk, was back at her office
Tuesday after a trip to Omaha,
Neb., where she attended the
convention of the National As
sociation of Counties as official
representative of Klamath coun
ty. Mrs. Short told members of
the county court Tuesday that
Klamath county Is well out in
front In planning for post-war
activities, a feature that was
heavily emphasized at the na
tional association meeting.
The clerk said that 36 states
out of 48 were represented at
tho convention. Fourteen dele
gates from Connecticut made up
the largest single delegation.
Three were present from Ore
gon. Mrs. Short made the trip to
Omaha with Grace Rusco of the
clerk's office, traveling by coun
ty automobile. '
The clerk's Journey by car
has been the subject of some
local critical discussion. She
said on her return that the car
was not used for side trips of
any nature, and said she decided
to go by car because of the dif
ficulty of getting train reserva
tions. ,
