Wedding Told
Lady Sarah Spencer-Churchill Weds Lieutenant
Edwin Russell in Royal Wedding
Everyone loves to read about a wedding, and especially In
these war times when the glitter of gold on uniforms vies with
the traditional white of tho bride's gown. Americans were In
terested In the wedding of Lady Sarah Spencer-Churchill, who
waa married In old St. Margaret's In London, to Lieutenant
Edwin F. Russell of the United States navy. Royally was much
In evidence, arrording to the following story from the New
York Times. As the magazine "Time'1 reported, Lieutenant
Russell "Is related to nobody famous!"
LONDON Lady Sarah
Consuelo Spencer-Churchill, a
cousin of tho prime minister,,
and Lieutenant Edwin F. Rus
sell, USN, wero married at
fashionable St. Margaret's,
Westminster, today. This Is
the third tlmo an Amorlcnn

can husband. Other Americans
who marrlod Into tho family

bride's grandmother, and Jen
nie Jerome, tho prime minis
ter's mother.
Lady Sarah, 21 -year -old
daughter of tho Duke and
Duchess of Marlborough, re-,
ceived ten days' leave from
her factory Job as a technician
in a firm manufacturing aer
onautical Instruments. Among
the many attending tho wed
ding was a group of young
women whoso acquaintance
ship with the bride dates from
the time she entered the fac
tory in 1041 and served In
a near-by British restaurant.
One of the bride's working col
leagues, Mrs. Irene Stono of
London, confided In a hushed
whisper before the ceremony
began that she and Lady Sarah
used to peel potatoes together.
