Rights Questioned
BOISE, May 11 (P) The
question of whether the federal
government has the right to
utilize land owned by a state
for storage of water was raised
yesterday by Idaho Attorney
General Bert H. Miller.
Reporting to the state land
board on the result of a survey
of possible results of the pro
posed government dam at Al
beni Falls, Wash,, to raise the
water of Pend Oreille lake in
Idaho, Miller disclosed that the
U, S. supreme court has held
that the water of a river which
may in any of Its length be nav
igable, are subject to federal
control.
