skies for enemy planes ever
since Pearl Harbor, have not
gone unrewarded,
Silver Medals have been given
1110 of them who have contri
buted BOO or more hours of serv
ice and observers with more than
100 hours have received arm
bands, the fourth fighter com
mand disclosed today,

Huffman, 24, private from the
Corvallis air base, was being
held by city police here today In
connection with the death of T

McCoy, Wis,
Police were also holding Mrs.
Mary Dorothy Duncan, 24, route
2, Junction City, wife ot the
dead soldier, as a material wit
ness. Huffman was arrested at lo
cal hospital early yesterday
whore Duncan had been takon
aftor being Injured In a brief
fight with the Corvallis base
soldier, Police Sgt. Ted Brown
roportod. Duncan died on the
way to the hospital without re
gaining consciousness.
