of the Oregon State Council of
Church Women was held in Eu
gene February 25 and 28.
Forty dclogutes, made up of
Oregon Protestant women rep
resenting 16 different denomin
ations, met the first evening to
hear Mrs. J. R. McCormlck,
president of Portland's prcsby
terlul, define the purpose of the
council. Mrs. McCormlck out
lined the group's general alms
which arc toward fellowship,
re-oricntutlon, Christian unity
and world brotherhood.
"The council," she stated, "is
a clearing houso for experi
ments and Ideas, a place wht.re
wo can pool our resources and
energies, and a place to In
crease our Christian awareness,
understanding and vision."

Ecuador Missionary Speaks
At First Baptist Church
Mrs. Reuben E. Larson, rep
resentative of station HCJB "The
Voice of the Andes," and mis
sionary to Ecuador for 19 years,
will speak at the First Baptist
church, Eighth and Washington
streets, tonight at 7:45 p. m.
The radio station, HCJB,
broadcasts 13 hours daily from
Quito, Ecuador, and transmits
some of the largest gospel pro
grams of the world. Programs
are broadcast in nine languages
over four stations, The Rev. Reu
ben E. Larson and Clarence W.
Jones are co-directors of the sta
tion. The personnel connected with
these broadcasts are known
widely as "the aerial ambassa
dors of good will" to the Amer
icas and the world. Rev. and

"Reality" will be the subject
of the Lesson-Sermon in all
Churches of Christ, Scientist, on
Sunday, March 28.

heard, neither have entered in
to the heart of man, the things
which God hath prepared for

will compromise the Lesson-Sermon
