Tho Hit was slightly unevon
from tho start. Prices stiffened

but the trend shifted to the
downside when carriers stum
bled. Offerings of the latter ap
parently were based partly on
pessimistic post-war prospects
for tho ronds as well as talk of
po.ndblo heavy land-grant rate
refunds by western systems.
Low-priced issues among indus
trials and utilities expunded
volume which ran to better than
1,000,000 shares. Final quota
tions were irregularly lower in
most groups.
Top marks for 1043 or longer
were recorded for such stock

Goodyear, United Gus Improve

BOSTON, March 10 (AP
USDA) Prices to growers of
medium wools in the mid-west
wero recorded today as up from
one to two tents. Bright medium
wools wore purchased at the fol
lowing prices: In Michigan, 47
48 cents; Ohio, 47 cents; Iowa, 45
cents; Minnesota, 43-45 cents. In
New Moxico, 12-months wools
were brought at an FOB grease
prico range of 42-45 cents.
