Last Signs of Old
Lexington Disappear
ASTORIA, March 13 (P)
The last remaining sign of the
pioneer town of Lexington dis
appeared this week when a
Warrenton grocer, razed the
chimney of the old Lexington
city hall to get bricks for a fire
place. The city hall, the last, struc
ture remaining of the town that
bustled with activity 60 yean
near the Astoria - Warrenton
junction, was torn down last
week.
The chimney bricks, obvious
ly hand made, each were
marked: "E.J.J. 1876."
