Murder Charges
Filed Against
Seattle Woman

Second degree murder charges
were filed Wednesday against ;
Mrs. Ardis Parmenter, 23, for
merly of Roundup, Mont., who '
confessed inflicting injuries
causing the death- of . nine-months-old
Mary Jean Clair
mont Sunday. The baby was the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.: Wal-
lace J. Clairmont, Garfield,
Wash,, who left it at the Par
menter home as they looked for
a place to live. Both its arms
were broken and it had a head

First degree assault charges
were also placed against Mrs.
Parmenter for injuries and the
death of her own three-months-old
child, Katheryn, who died
last December. The child died
of pneumonia but It also had a
broken arm. and other injuries.
