PENNY ISSUES
TAKE OVER ON
Dili's irkei
Bf VICTOR EUBANK
NEW YORK, March 1 (AP
Stocks generally slipped a cog
today in the heaviest market
dealings for more than year as
"penny" Issues monopolized the
ticker tape with blocks running
to 10,000 shares.
Profit cashing on the lengthy
upswing received the principal
blame for the stumble. The list
was shaky from the start and,
while assorted low-priced rails,
tractions and Industrial favorites
posted new 3-year tops, losses
of fractions to more than 2
points predominated near the
close. Transfers of around 2,-
000,000 shares were the largest
since December 30, 1941.
