Army Starts New Recruit
Drive; for Guns Not Men
A short army recruiting cam
paign Is being waged in Oregon
through next Wednesday, Feb
ruary 24 but it is for shotguns,

The Army Ordnance Depart
ment wants 50,000 twelve gauge

Double barrel and single shot
guns are not wanted and neither
are guns of any other gauge than

Fort Lewis Enters
Eight-Man Team for
Golden Glove Match
SEATTLE, Feb. 23 (P) An
eight-man team from Fort Lewis
has been added to the growing
entry list of the annual Pacific
northwest Golden Gloves tour
nament here Thursday and Fri
day nights. Five of the Fort
Lewis fighters won titles in the
service men's tournament here
last weekend. Fighters from
every branch of the armed
forces are expected to dominate
the mitt meeting, with the Ca
nadian entry list expected to be
the only one larger than that
from Fort Lewis.
