Contracting of 8-months Del Rio
wool continued at an unchanged
price of 43c, grease basis. Sales
of small lots of spot Montevideo
wool continued at firm prices.
There was a demand for average
fine Australian.

CHICAGO, Feb. 17 MP) A
good- demand for corn futures,
most deliveries of which touch
ed their-price ceilings-for the
first time since the office of price
administration established maxi
mum on that grain in mid-January,
highlighted grain trading to
day. .
Wheat was barely steady in a
slow trade and - little . interest,
was shown in rye and oats. Buy
ing of corn was attributed to be
lief that the halting of feed wheat
sales by the government would
increase the demand for. the
maize grain. ,
: At the close, July, September
and December corn futures were
at ceilings, while the May con
tract was 1-1 cents under , its
.maximum. Gains in the corn pit
ranged from 1-lc, May 991-ic.
' The strength in corn brought
late buying into the wheat pit
and prices closed 1-lc higher,
May $1,411-1.42, July $1,411.
Oats advanced 1-lc, rye gained
1-lc and there was no trade in
soybeans.
