news was told at a Christ
mas dinner In honor of Miss
Wood glvon by Mrs. Clifford
A. Taylor at her Avln, Cali
fornia home.
Miss Wood, with her sister,
Winifred, left Nebraska in
1937 to make their home In
Klamath Falls, where both
were graduated from the In
terstate Business college.
Later they were Joined by
their sister, Dorothy, now In
Klamath Falls. Kathryn nnd
Winifred are making their
home In Long Beach, Califor
nia at the present time, where
both ara civil service em
ployee, Kathryn, with the
United States coast guard and
Winifred, with the ferry com
mand. No date has been at for

Many Out-of-Town Visitors Guests at Aloha Ses
sion in Masonic Temple Tuesday

Mrs. Marjorle Simpson, Portland, worthy grand matron of
tha Order of the Eastern Star for Oregon, paid an official visit
to Aloha chapter, number sixty-one, at the regular meeting of
the chapter Tuesday evening, and held a school of instruction
immediately after the close of chapter.
Mrs. Clarence A. Humble, worthy matron, presided during
the ritualistic ceremonies of the chapter, end her 1943 officers
carried out their duties as if they were veterans, though this
was their first meeting. Mrs. Humble drilled her officers for
her opening and closing marches in a slow, stately and im
pressive tempo, in contrast to the marching time that has been
in use for years past. Even so slight a change as this, gives
variety to the ritual observances that could become monotonous
through the years.

for victory design carried
down through tha three long
tables. The head table carried
red, white, and blue candles,
and blue stars centered each
V. Before being seated the
one hundred members sang
. one verse of "America."

ton, Florida. She has been
actively engaged for several
years in assisting in pastoral
and evangelistic work as
talented pianist.
Mr. Griggs is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Griggs
of Tampa, Florida. He receiv
ed his schooling In Braden
ton, Florida, graduating from
Bradenton high school. After
completing a course for the
ministry at the Apostolic
Bible school, he then became
associate editor and manager
of the "Apostolic Evangel,"
official organ of the I.A.E.&M.
association. During the same
time, he was also pastor of
the Parrish Gospel Mission in
Parrish, Florida for a period
of four years. In April, 1942,
Mr. Griggs volunteered for
active service in the United
States coast guard reserve,
and since that time has been
stationed in southern Cali
