Dorris garage operator, an
nounced this week that he had
sold his business to Murel S.
Nelson, who had been employ
ed by him as mechanic.
Pruitt said he and his family
were moving to Weed, where he
will engage . in operating his
logging trucks.
v Nelson said the garage would
continue to offer complete auto
and truck repair and welding
service.

Merrill Library club are urged
to attend a special meeting Wed
nesday, January 13, in the1 Mer
rill library, called by Helen
Morcland, president, for the
uurpose of voting on the pro-
j posed sale of the building pur
chased by the club about four
years ago. The meeting will be
gin at 2 o'clock.
Mrs. Morcland appointed as a
committee to check on financial
expenditures on the buildings
Mrs. J. R. Steele, Mrs. E. E. Kil
Patrick, Mrs. R. L. Dalton, Mrs.
A. E. McCollum and Mrs. Eva
Bowman. Plans for the meeting
were made at the regular session
Thursday when Mrs. Moreland
filled the chair fcr the first time.

were Mrs. Moreland, Mrs. Palm
er and Mrs. Wheeler, members

Man" Flag Award
DORRIS Butte Valley high
school received the first "minute
man" flag In the county, treas
ury award for bond and stamp
sales. The flog may be flown for
a month after each month 00 per
cent of the students purchase
bonds and stamps.
For the two weeks of school
in December, $120 were pur
chased. Juniors led by percent
age, seniors next, the sopho
mores trailing the freshmen.
No human being has been

bonds. Classes are attempting to
increase this total by various
methods.
