Wheat prices tumbled more than
a cent a bushel today from the
highest quotations since 1937 as
profit taking sales halted the
slow advance which had added
5 to 12 cents to values since the
first of the month. .
There was a letup in demand
from mills and reports of en
larged country selling of cash
wheat in some localities encour
aged tho selling. Spot wheat,
with No. Z hard quoted at $1.41
was 9 cents over the government
loan rate here.

The war production board today
estimated lumber consumption
in 1943 at approximately 31,000,-
000,000 board feet, compared
with 40,200,000,000 board feet
in 1942.

Outlined for
Objectors' Camp
BAKER, Dec. 21 (P) Harry
Fuller of the regional grazing
office at Burns said Saturday
that a work program has been
outlined for conscientious ' ob
jectors who will be assigned to
a CCC camp at Keating.
Included in the labor program
for next summer will be fir
control, he said. Several thou
sand acres in the Keating area
were burned over last summer.
Fuller said his department hat
received no information as to
when the first objectors will ar
rive at the camp. - , .

Thefts Reported
In Klamath Falls
"The meanest kid In town
stole my Christmas tree," an
irate Klamath resident reported
to Dave Bridge, .city recreation
director. Bridge has received re
ports of several tree thefts from
local front yards over the week
end and said he was checking
on Christmas tree sellers and
the source of their stock.
One family reported a trea
stolen from their back yard.
High price of this year's trea
crop was given as the probabla
reason for1 such highway rob
bery, Bridge observed. ,
