EBBS IN DAY'S
T
By VICTOR EUBANK
NEW YORK, Nov. 21 ()
The buying tide ebbed in parts
of today's stock market as prof
Its were cashed on Friday's bulge
and commitments lightened for
weekend protection but gold
mines' and other post-war favor
ites retained a degree of popu
larity. , ; ,
Dealings, generally, were
sluggish although sizable blocks
of low-priced issues, the major
ity of which were about un
changed, helped put the two-
hour volume in the neighborhood
of 300,000 shares. Closing prices
were a trifle spotty and narrow.
Under water at intervals were
Santa Fe, Northern Pacific,
American Telephone, Western
Union and United Aircraft.
Bonds were a shade uneven.
Commodities did better.

Idaho's Governor
Terms Farm Gas
Ration Ridiculous
BOISE, Nov. 21 (JP) Gov.
Chase A. Clark today protested
the present method of rationing
gasoline for farm trucks by the
office of defense transportation
as "ridiculous.".
"Sixty per cent of the farm
trucks in Idaho will be tied up
and half of the state's farmers
will have to give ' up their
homes," he predicted. '
Clark said rationing certifi
cates received by farmers so far
indicate that the ODT has "no
conception of the needs of our
farmers." . : - -
