other large structures.
Private dwellings, however,

OPA issued an order to all lo
cal rationing boards to use a new
procedure in evaluating future
applications from owners of
larger structures, and also In
making a mandatory reexamina
tion of old applications upon
which action has already been
completed.
Local boards were Instructed
that hereafter, except In the case
of private homes, no fuel oil
been training intensively for al
most two years.
In every cabin and in every
corner of the large troop quar
ters men were tenderly clean
ing their small arm and load
ing clips and drums with am
munition. Deeper in the holds
soldiers in greasy fatigues were
giving last-minute adjustments
to their light tanks, heavy guns
and numerous vehicles they
planned to take into battle
"combat loaded" so that men
and equipment could be landed
on a hostile shore in the short
est time, under fire if necessary.
State Income Tax
Blanks Will Be
Mailed Next Month
SALEM, Nov. 14 UP) The
state tax commission said today
it would begin mailing out 1943
income tax blanks next month,
the forms to be returned by next
April 1. the deadline for pay
ment of the first half of 1S43
taxes.
The commission said it would
mail 323,000 blanks, an increase
of 50,000 over the mailing last
December.
The commission said that 1942
collections would top $14,000,
000, and that next year's collec
tions probably would be much
greater.

the other welding class, it was
also announced.
A new class in general sheet
metal will start November 2.
Some 25 men have been placed
in this industry in the last few
months. There is room In the
day machine shop class for 10
machinist trainees.
' The class in aviation sheet
metal for women is open to 12
women interested in this type of
work. Ages from 17 to 50 are
desired.
This school not only trains for
industry but can train for pre
induction for army, navy, ma
rines, etc. Call the vocational

Near Belgrade
LONDON, Nov. 14 (PiA
thousand Serbs, many of them
women and children between the
ages of 12 and 17. were executed
last September . 29 at a
single town Vukovar on the
Danube river northwest of Bel
grade the Yugoslav informa
tion bureau reported Friday.
It said 318 others were put to
death at the same time In other
communities nearby.
Twenty-five other persons In
nazi-occupied lands were report
ed by allied governments in Lon
don to have been executed for
espionage.
