At one of the early fall's loveliest teas the engage
ment of Miss Eleanor Collier and Lieutenant Frederick
Ehlers was made known when friends colled at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred D. Collier, 1965 LeRoy street,
on Thursday afternoon. Tea hours were from three to
six o'clock.
No date has been set for the wedding.
Miss Dorothy Collier, wearing a pink lace and. net
frock, greeted guests at the door and receiving were
Mrs. Collier and Eleanor. Miss Phyllis Collier, cousin of
the bride-elect, presented callers with small white cords
on which were tied Cecil Brunner rosebuds and the
names of the couple printed in gold.
For her betrothal porty, Eleanor wore a blue net
frock with bands of lace on the full skirt and a single
lavender orchid at her shoulder.
Assisting about the rooms were Mrs. Warren Coe
Hupt, .Mrs. Andrew M. Collier, Carolyn and Phyllis
Collier, Margaret DeBolt, Phyllis Foster, Janice and Vir
ginia Bubb. (
Thfi tea table, centered with a bowl of Cecil Brunner
roses and bouvardia, was lighted by white candles in
crystal candlesticks. Presiding during the afternoon were
Mrs. George Mclntyre,. Mrs. Victor O'Neill, and Mrs.
Edward A. Ceory.
Among the out-of-town guests was Mrs. Cuy Page '
of Grants Pass, sister of Lieutenant Ehlers.
The bride-elect, who was graduated from the Uni
versity of Oregon, this year completed her graduate
work at Stanford university and will teach English in
the Salinas high school . this winter. She is a member of
Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Lieutenant Ehlers is the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Ehlers of Redmond, Oregon, 'and also attended the
University of Oregon where he is a member of Sigma
Nu fraternity. At the present time he Is stationed at
tho Presidio, San Francisco, and arrived this weekend
to accompany the' Colliers to Diamond lake.

Many Friends After Lengthy Absence
With so many nice people leaving Klamath Falls to make
their homes all over the country, one place or another, it was
delightful to greet Mrs. Twyla Ferguson who returned early
Thursday morning ' after an absence of many months. Mrs.
Ferguson came directly from Washington, D. C, to this city.
She left here on April 18, 1941, and has enjoyed stays in many
interesting places on the Atlantic coast. .-r-

is now with one of the large
Los Angeles airplane factories.

Loughlin. She taught in the
old Central school here and
has enjoyed seeing many for
mer acquaintances. Mrs. Brett
is now Los Angeles elemen
tary school supervisor, ' With
