push ahead In today's market

largest in five weeks. Sizable
blocks of low-quoted issues aid
ed the turnover.
While there were scattered
losers, gains of fractions to
around 2 poinu dominated the
proceedings in the final hour.
Santa Fc went into new high
ground since 1038 and peaks for
the year were touched by Union
Pacific, Atlantic Coast Lines,
Eric Certificates, United Air
Lines, Transcontinental & West
ern Air, Northwestern Air Lines,
Consolidated Oil, National Dis
tillers, Greyhound Corp., Para
mount Pictures, U. S. Rubber
and U. S. Leather "A."
Favored most of the day were
U. S. Steel, Bethlehem, Amer
ican Telephone, General Motors,
