Young Couple Wed
In Church Rites
Anna Mae Sharpe of Ashland Weds Leo C. Wine
,. in Service at Klamath Revival Center
Miss Anna Mae Sharpe of Ashland, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs; X. C. Sharpe of Concord, North Carolina, became the
bride of Mr. Leo C. Wine of Ashland, son of Rev. and
Mrs. E. J. Wine, 1116 Iowa street, of that city, in a beau
tiful wedding ceremony here in Klamath Falls at the Klam
ath Revival Center Sunday afternoon, July the twenty-sixth.
The. ceremony was read by the father of the groom, Rev. E. J.
Wine,: pastor of the United Brethren church of Ashland, and
ras attended by many friends and relatives.
Miss Ruby Sharpe, sister
of the bride, was the maid of
honor,, and Emory Wine,
brother of the groom, was
the best man. The brides
maids were Miss Eleanor Mc
Cool . and Miss Patricia Jor
dan, both of Klamath Falls,
, while the attendants to the
groom were Keith Wine of
Ashland, brother of the
groom,: and Melvin Griffith
of this city.
The . bride wore a white
taffeta frock with a finger
tip veil and carried a bou
quet of pink roses. The maid
of honor wore a light green
net . formal, , Miss McCool
wore pink and Miss Jordan
was dressed In old rose. The
ihaid . of honor and brides
maids carried bouquets alike .
composed ". of baby breath,'
larkspur, roses and sweet
peas.

young Jasper Wine, ringbear
er, and Esther Wine, flower
girl, brother and sister of the
groom . .
. Preceding the ceremony,
Warren Combs of Klamath
Falls sang "I Love You
Truly," and . "O Promise
Me." '.
-. Mr. Wine was graduated
from' Ashland high school in
1939,; and the bride received
her education in Statesville,
North Carolina, before com
ing f to Ashland just a year
ago. Both are graduates of
the Apostolic Bible school in
Bradenton, Florida, and will
'continue to be engaged in
gospel work. At the present,
j they will make their home
in Ashland.

expected home this weekend

have visited the past few

farewell party given Friday
evening of last week at the
home of Mrs. Carl W. Henry
on Reclamation avenue. The
affair was given by the
Ladies Auxiliary, to the
Brotherhood of Railroad
Trainmen, Ewauna lodge. No.
902. Mrs. Reynolds was pre
sented with a lace tablecloth
as a gift from the lodge.

ing the evening with awards

and Mrs. Harry Sackctt.

with the Rev. A. Theodore
Smith officiating at the single
ring ceremony. The service
took place in the presence of
Mrs. Aimcc L. Smith and Dr.
Sarah Ethel Smith. Following
a brief honeymoon Mr. and
Mrs. Harns will reside in
Klamath Falls.

NEW OFFICERS
Members of the Three R .
club met at the home of Mar
jorie Perkins this past week
for a business meeting and
election of officers.
Ella Bortis was elected the
new president of the club,
and Estel Bright was elected
secretary and treasurer. Mrs.
Perkins is the retiring presi
dent and Ada Morris the re
tiring secretary.
Refreshments were served
followed by three tables of
pinochle with Ann Shaffer re
ceiving high score at the close
of play, Kate Hoguc, second
high, and Ella Pauley the
traveling.
The club's next meeting
will be held at the home of
June Micliclson on Lindley
Heights.

Following the arrival of

the hostess served a dinner
in true ranch style followed
by an evening of contract
bridge. High score for the
evening's play was held by

second high was given to
Mrs. Jerry Sisemore.
