His bill would authorize the
reconstruction finance corpora
tion to make loans up to 75 per
cent of the value of such prop
erties, with interest not to ex
ceed 3 per cent, nnd no pay
ment due on either principal or
interest until two years after
tho end of the present emer
gency was proclaimed by the
president.
The loans would be Issued
only where It could be shown
that SO per cent or more of a
normal business arrived by pri
vate motor carrier and was not
rcplacable by common carrier.

ously to trying to solve the slump of the Now York Yankees
probably arc busy now figuring out reasons for the sliding of
the Boston Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers.
This is a thankless task, but

have it bad. Boston has lost
four in a row and nine of its
last 11 games while Detroit has
