Two books for children, which
received awards from the Amer
ican Library association, are on
display In the window of the
V. 8. National bank building
along with a number of hobby
books on how to make and do
things. '
One of the highly rated books
is Edmond's "Matchlock Gun,"
which received the Newbery
medal for making the greatest
contribution of the year to chil
dren's literature.
The other book is McClos
key's "Make Way for Duck
lings," which received the Cal
decott medal as the most distin
guished American picture book
for children.
A beautiful pair of eyes are
okay but need looking Into.
Bly Women's Club
Meets at Picnic
BLY The Bly Women's club
held a picnic at the Spraguc Riv
er forest camp on Wednesday,,
June 28. The afternoon was
spent playing bridge and pi
nochle, with a number of chil
dren enjoying the usual picnic
sports.
A picnic dinner was enjoyed at
noon, Those present were Mrs.
James Dixon, Mrs. Monte Clino,
Mrs. Arohlo Strong, Mrs. Ernie
Loper, Mrs. John Ciclsjbpuk,
Mi's. Pat Ivory, Mrs. Norman
Dyer and Iva Cllno.
