the crop now coming to market,

brief illness that preceded his
death at the age of 85. He loved
the games, and the lads who
played them. .
So, it was not strange to the
folk hereabouts that, according
to his dying request, two base
ball teams played a full-fledged
game in a field near the ceme
tery as his body lay in state in
a tent nearby and that Glenn
"Razz" Miller, high school prin
cipal and Class D and semi-pro
outfielder, conducted funeral
rites after the game.
Job training Is being rein
forced rapidly, with 20,898 "lead
men" and supervisors In 838
plants with 1,800,000 workers
trained to provide instruction.
Goal of the training program is
300,000 supervisors In factories
from coast to coast.

saved hours of anxiety when
they heard from their young
son Weston, that he was safe In
San Diego, A short time after
a call came from Weston, re
layed through neighbors, the
Watsons learned of the loss of
the aircraft carrier, Lexington,
on which their son had been sta
tioned ; for the past several
months.
Weston Watson enlisted In the
United States navy In February
and was assigned to the Lexing
