One of the most interesting events of graduation week of Merrill high school waa the recital given by music pupils of Mrs. M. E. Giacomlni during the past week. There were five U'gh school pupils who received credits in music, James Hodges, Margaret Icenbice, Ollie Belle Layman, May Dennehy and Joanne Smith of Tulelake. AT LOVE HOME The Friendship club met Friday afternoon et the home of Mrs. E. H. Love on White avenue with Mrs. Ralph Weise and Mrs. O. E. Schupp as co hostesses. A bridge luncheon was served at half past one o'clock, followed by a short business meeting conducted by Mrs. C. O. Drydcn, the presi dent. High at the close of bridge was received by Mrs. Frank Hamra, second high by Mrs. E. Bjorkland, and Mrs. Char les M. Reynolds received the special prize. Those present were Mrs. C. W. KAYLOR HOSTESS TO THREE R CLUB The Three R club of Royal Neighbors of America met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lola Myers on Main street with Mrs. Jestia Kaylor as hostess. Dessert was served at half past one o'clock after which cards and a social afternoon were enjoyed. Awards were received by Mrs. Grace Har ris, Mrs. Maude Shuey and Mrs. Marjorie Perkins. Two visitors were present, Mrs. Iva Mae Schindel and Mrs. Abbie Landry. ' Jennie Sogge, chairman of child care and training com mittee, presented a chapter night program open' to the men of LOOM as well as the women. ., -. ; Mr. Currey and his band of boys, ranging in age from six to twelve years, gave a group of numbers, followed by a reading by Mrs. Sogge on child health and welfare. At the conclusion of the eve ning the child care and train ing committee initiated a class of three candidates. Gustin-Hallgarth Robert Thornton Gustin of Klamath Falls and Genevieve Posy Hallgarth, of La Grande were married in the sanctu ary of the First Methodist church Saturday, May the twenty-third at four o'clock, the Rev. Victor Phillips, min ister, officiating. The service was attended by members of the families and a few inti mate friends. Mr. and Mrs. Gustin expect to make their home In Klamath Falls. The bride was attended by Irene Kennedy and H. C. Dictz was best man. WEDDING EVENT OF MAY 27TH The wedding of Miss Cleo Esbenshade and Mr. Ernest Neasham took place at Yreka Wednesday, May the twenty seventh, in the presence of the bride's mother, Mrs. Pat Monkman. . Mrs.' Neasham is one of the most popular of the young women of Dorris, which has been her home since 1927. She was graduated from Butte Valley high school in 1936 and from Lassen Junior col lege in 1938. She attended the University of Washington for one year and was a mem ber of Kappa Delta Pi soror ity. She returned to Califor nia and attended Chlco State Teachers college, being gradu ated in 1940. For the past two years the former Miss Esbenshade has been a member of the Dorris grammar school faculty and has been so successful that children and parents regret her leaving. The groom, also a graduate of Butte Valley high school, Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Neasham of McCloud, who lived at Dorris one year. He attended Chico State college a year and a half and distin guished himself In dramatics. He was a member of Alpha Xi Omega, dramatics society. Since then he has lived in Mc Cloud, where he has been an employe of the McCloud Lum ber company and the South ern Pacific company. He is now employed by the forest service The young couple left for a brief honeymoon in the Red woods and will return to Med icine lake where they will spend the summer. PUBLIC CARD PARTY PLANNED FOR MONDAY Neighbors of Woodcraft are sponsoring a public card party in the KC hall Monday eve ning, June the first, at eight o'clock. Whist and pinochle will be in play with prizes and refreshments. Each member is asked to sponsor a table and to bring cards. The committee in charge includes Stella Dry den, Dicksy Weed, Eva Rich ardson, Mamie Steinseifcr, Mil dred Smith, Sylvia Brannan, Ida Mochettaz and Stella Wells. . Club To Meet On Tuesday . The bride was a member of this year's graduating class of the Malln high school, receiv ing her diploma, May the twenty-first. The groom, also a graduate of the Malln high school, Is employed in the Boo ing aircraft factory in Seattle, where the young couple will make their home. '.
