RIVERSIDE
Riverside students continued
to buy defense stamps in 23 and
10 cent denominations and the
amount was upped considerably
following the holidays when
dimes nnd pennies went for
Christmas presents. On Mon
day after students returned to
school, the boys and girls pur
chased $27.80 worth of stamps,
it was reported, and on Mon
day of this week, sales totaled
$23.10.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (VP) Be
cause he was 52, the navy would
not take William E. Olsen when
he tried to reenlist after Pearl
Harbor.
But since he was turned down,
he's been back to the recruiting
office 12 times, each time with
a young man he'd persuaded to

The twelfth recruit had a bad

dentist to get it pulled.
