holiday trading In grain futures
today was dominated by weak
ness of soybeans, which fell as
much as two cents a bushel at
one time, carrying wheat down
, fractionally.
A large accumulation of re
ceipts of beans, totaling 273 cars,
had a bearish effect on prices
but traders also expressed belief
the weather forecast predicting
a sharp drop in temperatures
was a factor.
British purchases of Canadian
wheat for December shipment.
Including some grain destined for
Russia, attracted attention of
, wheat trader.
Wheat closed Ic lower to 1c
higher compared with Wednes
day, December $1,141-1, May
$1,191-1; corn unchanged to ic
higher, December 74-741c, May
80c; oats 1c off to 1c up; rye un
