Mr. and Mra. Stanley R. Berry of 2105 Reclamation street, an
nounced the date of the marriage of their attractive daughter,
France! Taylor Berry, to Mr. Donald Lee Golding, son of Mrs.
Harriet Golding of Islip, Long Island. The marriage sen-lea
will ba read at the home of the bride's parents on Sunday af
ternoon, August the eighteenth at one o'clock.
A few Intimate friends and
members of both families have
been invited to the wedding
which will be very simple.
Following a motor trip the
young couple will make their
home in this city where Mr.
Golding is a member of the
Klamath Union high school
faculty. At the present time
Mr. Golding Is In Long Island,
but is expected to arrlva
August the eighteenth.
Mrs. Anthony Manno enter
tained at a prettily appointed
party for Miss Berry at her
home, 2440 Darrow avenue,
this past Tuesday evening. The
affair was a towel shower and
the honor guest received many
attractive gifts. Games wera
played during the evening

train for San Francisco where

weeks' course In color and
flower arrangement studying
at the Rudolph Schaeffer
School of Design. This Is a
special summer course offered

from over the entire coast at

July the eleventh, when Mrs.

Neal Stewart entertained at
the Lamb home on Cypress
street.
Buffet supper was served
from a table centered with a
flat white bowl of pink sweet
peas, asters and petunias.
Cards were played later on the
sun porch with high score held

Olds, and traveling prize went
to Mrs. George Clark.

FOR CONVENTION
IN CLEVELAND
Mr. and Mrs. George Wal
ton of Homedale, who are
en route to Cleveland. Ohio
where Mr. Walton will at
tend the national conclave of
Knights Templar as a dele
gate from Oregon, were in
Detroit, Michigan Friday
where they received their
new car, according to a mes
sage received here. The Wal
tons left last week, going via
San Francisco.
Before going to Cleveland,
Mr. and Mrs. Walton will vis
it relatives in Alma, Michi
gan, and later will motor to
New York City, visiting oth
er eastern points before re
turning home the northern
route. They expect to be
away about a month.

SAILS SATURDAY
FOR COSTA RICA
Miss Virginia Houston, popu
lar bride-elect of Mr. John
Tillotson and for whom many
interesting parties were given
the early part of the summer,
sailed on the Toloa from New
Orleans on Saturday of last
week en route to Puerto
Limon, Costa Rica, where she
will become Mr. Tillotsons
bride.
Miss Houston is the daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Houston, and Mr. Tillotson is
the only son of Mr. and Mrs.
Mitchell Tillotson, all of this
city.

gates' wives being foted this coming week during
the national convention of Ells at Houston, Texar,.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Doren left Tuesday for the
southern city and will be gone about three weeh.
Mr. Van Doren is exalted ruler of the Klamalh Falls'

Friday in Klamath Falls In
the interests of the Shakes
pearean festival to be held in
Ashland. August the ninth to
the seventeenth. Mrs. Egan is

ford district and the entire
valley is eager that many come
from Klamath Falls for at
least one or two of the per

Observes Birthday
Mrs. Addle Walker, beloved
pioneer matron of Klamath
Falls, observed her eighty
second birthday on Friday,
July the fifth. During the day
Mrs. Walker worked In her
lovely garden at her home on
North Fifth and Pine streets,
and also recolved many old
friends. Her son, Earl,
motored from Bly to spend
the evening with her.

DeBord to Mr. Paul Marcus
Segel, which was solemnized
in Carson City, Nevada, on
July the second.
Mrs. Segel formerly taught
school in Klamath Falls where
she has a wide circle of
friends. For tha past two
years she has been teaching at
Modesto, California, and dur
ing the coming year, in addi
tion to her position there, will
serve as recreational director
for the John Mulr school. Mr.
Segel, who Is now attending
the summer session at Stan
ford university, has been prin
cipal of the school at Hanford,
California, for the past two
years.

A Joint business meeting
and picnic was held by tha
Klamath Falls Venture club
at Moore park last week
when plans were made for
continuing the Red Cross

ager of the Red Cross sew
ing rooms, and each Ventur
1st is busily engaged in pro
ducing dresses for girls from
two to eight yeara of age.
Several of the Venturlsts are
also knitting for tha Red
Cross.
Meetings have been held
at the home of Mrs. Rita
Whlsenant on Portland street
for conducting this work, two
having been held so far. The
Red Cross sewing is in charge
of Miss Beverley Reed. The
next meeting of the club will
be at the home of Mrs. Rob
ert Odcll, 227 Ewauna street,
when dinner will be served
on the lawn at half past six
o'clock and a program will
be given on parliamentary
law.

PIANIST TO PLAY
IN MEDFORD
Music lovers are Interested
to learn that Bernhard Abra
mowltach of San Francisco,
will appear in Medford in con
cert tha evening of July tha
twenty-sixth, and a number
of Klamath Falls folks are
planning to motor to the val
ley to hear him.
Mr, Abramowltsch was pre
sented in consort in Medford
last year and Is returning by
demand. Ha is considered one
of the six leading pianists on
the Pacific coast and those
who have had the pleasure of
hearing him hope to bring him
to Klamath Falls in tha near
future. ''

Miss Lettie Stewsrt, daugh
ter of Mrs. Myra Stewart of
this city, writes interesting
letters from Camp Kllowan,
near Dallas, Oregon, whart
she Is spending the summer as
swimming Instructor at tha
Camp Fira girls camp there.
Lettie recently completed her
first yesr at Oregon State col
lege where she Is a member
of Beta Phi Alpha sorority.
She and a sister are teach
ing tha art of diving and tha
various strokes at camp. Let
