Downstairs ah paused outside
the living room, hearing her father ,

From th kitchen Aunt Hat

"Why, Pops, I"
"Oh, John," Aunt Hat bubbled.

of shopping and packing.
There was no tune to think or
Gusty. Whenever Aunt Hat men

to tell the truth. Aunt Hat's whole

evening. Now that Gusty knew
she was going, the only decent
thing he could do would be to
bring her the ticket ... At 10
o'clock she gave up and went to
bed.
John Weston had everyone
awake at daylight. They were all
too excited to eat breakfast. When
they finally piled into the big
sedan, Francie could hardly be
lieve they were starting for Holly
wood. Whv, anything could hap
pen in Hollywood! She might even
aee Jerry Finney . . .
"Say goodby to the old town
for a whole month," Mr. Weston
laughed.
Francie gaied back at the un
impressive skyline of Elspeth City.
How drab it looked! How glad she
waa to get away from it! From
small-minded people like Gusty
Gair. , ,
Mr. Weston said, "Think hell
wait for you, Francie?"
I I don't want him to!" Fran
cie cried. "I'm through with
Gusty."
