honors.

meet was the baseball throw
for "C" class boys. Brower of
Mills bettered his own mark by
throwing the ball 163 feet 8

Members of th Junior Red
Cross have been helping In the
local Red Cross ofice th last
few days,, getting out letters to
members In connection with the
War Relief drive.
Girls working Monday were

Mills school. Tuesday several
girls from Fremont school were
scheduled to help.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars
auxiliary held a public pinochle
card party Thursday afternoon,
May 18, in the KC hall. Eight
tables were In sesnlon. High
prize was given to Mrs. E. G.
Thomas, second high to Mrs. Vic
Dunn. Door prize went to Mrs.
Dana Subject. Refreshments
were served after playing by the
following hostesses: Mrs. Naomi
Kurtz, Mrs. Thomas Bacon, Mrs.
Crump and Mrs. Roy McDaniels.
Ned Bredberg has returned
to Sacramento, Calif, lie came
here Saturday to attend the
wedding of Lowell Netzer and
Lois Dixon.
Mr. and Mrs. William Henders
left Monday for their home in
Bremerton, Wash., after visit
ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
J. E. Henders on Martin street.
