NEW YORK, April 6 UP)
Shipbuilding stocks, along with
steels and an assortment of
specialties, paced today's mar
ket on another upward Jaunt.
While many groups held to
a narrow course, gains of 1 to
i 2 or more points were posted
for favorites, with a number
edging into new high ground
for the year.
Low-priced performers turned
over in relatively large volume
at small advances. These were
principally in the automotive
division.
Transfers were in the vicinity
of 700.000 shares, one of the
largest two-hour turnover since
last November.
There was a smattering of
hopeful business items to keep
the market's spirits up, and
Wall street still seemed to main
tain an optimistic view of forth-
coming presidential election
prospects.
