ONE OF OCTOBER'S LOVELIEST BRIDES was Maurine Leslie, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice G. Leslie of Rose street, whose marriage to Mr. Gilbert Fleet, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Fleet of Klamath Falls, was an event of high noon in the
First Methodist church with Rev. Victor Phillips reading the ring ceremony. Th
bride was charming in a costume suit of winter blue with burgundy accessories.
Following a wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Fleet will be at home on Conger avenue.
Such a busy week, with important weddings, plans made for October teas anel
the entertainment of the young maids who have announced their betrothals recently.
With the added snap in the air informal bridge parties are becoming more frequent
and it's mighty cosy to sit in front of a fireplace these late afternoons to toast
one's toes and chat over tea or coffee cups.
'
There was a great deal of entertaining done on Friday night with lupperj and
cocktail parties before the Medford-Klamath game, and after, too. Many Medford
people were house guests of Klamath Falls residents, returning to the valley Satur
day. And then, on the other hand, quite a few, we understand, came Friday night
to remain for the opening of duck season Sunday morningl
Planned for the coming week is the October tea of Sojourners, the apron and
overall dance the Elks will enjoy after a pbtluck supper on Saturday evening, a most
important meeting of the League of Women Voters when Neutrality will be the '
point of discussion, (this is on Monday in the library), and several benefit card parties.
