Henry Bchortgen, building Inspec
tor, to eliminate the Icicles from
the eaves of all buildings.
"Last winter during the cold
spell we had a lot of trouble
with Icicles." Bchortgen observed.
"Some h e a y y Icicles dropped
from buildings In the alleyways
of town and caused considerable
damage to trucks snd cars
parked in the drives. There is
also a lot of danger to pedes
trians, and the city advises all
residents to cut off the icicles
befora It starts thawing heavily."
Although privately owned mo
tor vehicles have increased only
6 per cent In number since 1930,
those owned by federal, state
and local governments have In- direction
creased 70 per cent.
