DODGE DEALERS
A drive to stress the dollar val
ues of 1938 Dodges and Plymoutha
to dealers and salesmen of the
Dodge dealer organisation was
launched tn Klamath Falls Wed
nesday, January 6, by Dan Beck,
Dorigo reglnnnl manager, at a
meeting held here.
Reck, supporting his statements
with charts and engineering data,
declared that mechanical and
other innovations of the new
models gave them tho greatest
value to tho purchaser of any pre
vious models and kept faith with
the automobile Industry's record
of continuously giving the con
sumer more for the money from
year to year.
More than 75 dealers and sales
men from the Klnmnth Falls area
attended the meeting. Tho Os
tondort Motor company, Dmlgo
Plymouth dealer here, was well
represented. Hook, was assisted
by Gael Green, district represen
tative, and O. h. Youngs, regional
tucd vehicle mauagcr.

Death tonk another of Klam
eth's longtime residents early
Wednesday morning; when Wll
Ham W. Whltlatch passed away In
this city after a lengthy Illness.
Whltlatch, who Is well known here
had been spending several months
In Ashland and hod only returned
here a week ago. He was 90 years
of age at the time of death.
Whltlatch was born In Shelby-
villa, Shelby county. III., Decern
her 10, 1S48. He came to the
Klamath country In 1906 and
settled at Merrill, where he lived
until 1920. Since then he has
lived In the Henley district and In
Klamath Falls and spent the past
two winters In the Rogue river
valley.
He Is survived hy eight chll
dren: Margaret E. Moore and
Jesse E. Whltlatch of Klamath
Falls, Mrs. Iva Hill of Merrill
William V. Whltlatch of Henley
Jacob Whltlatch of Medford,
Harvey F. Whltlatch of Pomona,
Kaa., Marlon D. Whltlatch of Ot
tawa, Kas., and Mrs. Neva Kinder
of Marysville, Wash.
The funeral arrangements will
b announced later.
EQUIPMENT
Installation of new long dis
tance enuinmnnt fn tha Vlamnth
Falls offices of the Pacific Tele-
pnone and Telegraph company is
now underway, according to
Charles Seavey, manager here.
A special crew of seven men,
employed by the Western Elec
trio company, is Installing the
equipment, known technically as
"carrier and repeater" appliances.
The gross expenditure involved
Is 21,000.
The new equipment will pro

through the Klamath Falls of
fices. It will take about three
months to complete installation.
Seavey stated Wednesday that
work has been completed on con
struction of new long distance
lines to the California state
line near Dorrla.

85 new applications being re
ceived. This program Is volun
tary and anyone wishing to co
operate may sign a work sheet by
calling at the county agent's office.

The annual meeting of the
Oregon Wool Growers associa
tion will be held at Prinevllle,
January 11 ana 12.

the sessions.
