CIO ACCUSES AFL OF LISTENING TO SWEAT SHOP HEADS WASHINGTON, Dec. 21 (UP) The Committee for Industrial Or ganization last night acctued the American Federation of Labor of Joining with "sweat :Lap mploy ers and tory politicians" to defeat the administration's wages-andhours bill which the house virtu ally killed last week. In an editorial to be published I o d ay in the "CIO News" weekly newspaper of the John L. Lewis labor faction. the CID as sailed the federation leadership and President Will Green and charged that "the whip has crack ed over Green and he has Jumped to the orders of a little clique of half dozen officials who domi nate the federation's executive council." The attack came on the eve of resumption of peace parleys be tween special committees of the rival labor groups. In addition to blasting the fed eration and other opponents of the disputed wage-hour measure, the editorial gave further intima tion that Lewis would seek direct political action in the 1938 con gressional elections through la bor's non-partisan league, politi cal arm of the CIO. The article, which has Lewis' approval, said "the list of those who voted against wage-hour leg islation will be frequently re ferred to in 1938 ..." -MEN SEEK TRACE OF ACCOMPLICES IN ALCATRAZ ESCAPE SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 21 (UP) Federal agents today hunted for traces of accomplices who might have aided two con victs; to escape last Thursday from Alcatraz federal prison on an is land in San Francisco bay.
