MOVE OPENS TO
PROMOTE HOME
BUILDING HERE
At a meeting of the Build
, Klamath committee in the cham
ber of commerce office Wednea
day night the chamber of com
merce was requested immediate
ly to take steps to stimulate
building construction in Klamath
county.
The enthualastic group which
met Wednesday night was corn
.. posed of those interested in all
lines of building construction, and
after hearing the report of George
Davis of Lorenz company, who at
, tended the residential construc
tion conference recently held in
Washington, D. C. the group out
' lined plans for immediate action.
Ralph Howard. Howard Perrin
and George Davis were appoint
ed as a committee to draft a leg
islative program to be forwarded
to the congressional delegation
with regard to the impending
amendments to the housing act.
, Those in attendance felt the
need of a better understanding
of the existing legislation and will
bold future meetings in this regard.
It bas been found that about
88 per cent of a toad's food
consists of insect pests, and in
a period of 3 months, about 10.-
000 injurious insects will be
destroyed by each toad.

Buying support weakened in the
stock market today and many
leaders slipped fractions to 3
points.
While a handful of
principally those of 10-share trad
ing units, managed to contest the
trend for sizable advances, major
steels. motors and coppers gave
ground easily at the last.
There were mild rallying Inter
vale, but these larked power. and
the list generally skidded to
around the lows ot the day in the
final hour.
Brokers found a little more
hopefulness among their custom
ers regarding business, but moat
apparently were awaiting concrete
evidence the lengthy trade slide
was nearing bottom.
Selling for income tax loss de
ductions wee reported,. as was
liquidation to obtain funds for
December 15, tax Payments.
Dealings were slow from the
start, transfers being around 1,-
000,000 shares.

of fine wools was offering encour
agement. Prices were still irregu
lar on the active fine wools, but
