Contest Here Enthusiastic
An enthusiastic response, far
beyond the expectations of the
committee, sent scores of po
tato recipes to the chamber
of commerce in answer to
the call for unusual recipem of
ink type to he used in the little
"view" bound booklet which
will adventle to nationwide users

association, the Klamath County
Potato Growers association and
the Klamath county chamber of
COMMIT and to the housewives
whose recipes have been accepted
for publication in the News
Herald, a 25-pound sack of Klam
ath Netted Gems is waiting at the
chamber of commerce.
Judges sat at a desk piled high
with recipes, more than 85 in all,
turning the russet-jacketed potato
Into every sort of appetizing dish
imaginable. It was a difficult
task that awaited them, but they
chose a group that they felt Were
especially tuitional, one of the
loom outstanding being the Old
Dutch Potato Pancakes recipe
sent in by one of the teen's hest
cooks, Mrs. E. C. Stucky, 1434
Canby street.
To Mrs. Stucky goes the first
sack of Netted Gems and this Is

Old Dutch Potato Pancakes
Peel aix large Klamath Netted
(sum potatoca, wash and grate,
hen drain. For every pint of pulp
allow two eggs, one tablespoon
of flour, one-half teaspoon of salt,
a little pepper and a little onion,
grated. Beat eggs well and mix
with the rest of the ingredients
adding a little milk to make a
batter, Drop by opoonfula on a
griddle, turn and brown on both
sidea. These are excellent with
apple sauce.
