' However, it is not in the south-end alone that things are going'in a big way in the Klamath basin Our neigh bors up at Chiloquin, for instance, are having a. most ex cellent year. Lumbering operations up there have been active. Chiloquin has functioned as a most important livestock shipping point. The able young man who serves The Herald and News as correspondent at Chiloquin also works for the railroad. In a note to the editorial desk telling how busy he is, he said: "Saturday we had about 30 cars of cattle and Sun day 21 care moved from Lenz and 44 cars from Chilo uin ! to coast points and east Nine cars went to Ash- ! land,'Nebraska; 11 cars to Montgomery, Ill., for feedu Ing and to be shipped later to the Chicago and other :astern markets. Monday we had,15 cars of steers from :.'hiloquin to Kansas City, Mo., and Wednesday 17 cars ! !rom Lenz to San Francisco and Guadalupe, Calif. Lenz Ind Chiloquin are the main livestock shipping points rom this district, Chiloquin getting about 80 per cent 1 the businerss."
