blanks for the Klamath Lake Re
gatta on Jans IT.
The Calltornian, well known
tor bii fast craft, will enter three
boats In three different events.
It Is possible he will enter a
fourth boat before the entry lists
close.
Holds Hydro Title.
Angiller will enter the C and
F hydro races and the runabout
event. If he brings a fourth boat,
It will be placed In -the competi
tive class of the B motors.
The names ot his boats are the
Lollypop, Sweetheart and the
Lollypop Evinrude.
Angiller holds the Pacltlo coast
championship In the C hydro and
C racing runabout divisions. His
boats set records in both events.
The Marysrllle sportsman won
the southern Oregon C champion
ship at Medtord last season along
with the D and F hydro titles.
Coast Raving High.
He holds the Lorimer trophy
and the highest amateur rating
on the coast. Besides this already
outstanding record, Angiller has
taken first in six races out ot
nine starts this season.
More entry blanks are expected
bore within the next tew days.
The total list of outboard drivers
Is expected to make the regatta
one of the most important in the
northwest.
Sailboats Prepared.
At least IS craft will be en
tered In the sailboat contests, the
most beautiful race on the pro
gram. Owners ot boat In Klam
ath Falls were busy thia week

against Invading sailboat. Three
sailboats will be brought here
from Bend.
A number ot Klamath sailboats
were expected to be placed in the
water Sunday tor, the first time
this season.

Plays on Sunday
The Altamont baseball team,
contender for the independent
title ot the county, will be seen
in action Sunday against the
Lamm's Mill team.
The game will be played on the
South Sixth street and Altamont

The Pittsburgh Pirates' sudden
slump, or, perhaps, the home
field strength of the Chicago
Cubs today had painted a few
new highlights in the National
league picture.
After battling their way up to
the league lead last week, the
Pirates ran into their first losing
streak when tbey dropped a
double-header to the Giant Hon
day, then took it on the chin
three times in a row in Chicago.
As a result they were down in a
fourth-place tie with Boston to
day, while the Giants and Cubs
were tied for second, a game and
a halt behind the St. Lonls Car
dinals.
Following their double holiday
triumph, the Cubs continued tbeir
slugging ways Thursday by bat
tering out an. 11 to 5 decision
over the Bncs as Chuch Klein
contributed his 14th homer and

The fight game, gone from the
Legion hall for many months,
makes Its reappearance tonight,
when Elmer "Buss" Brown, the
boxing master ot the Northwest
featherweights, directs his punch
er toward Johnny Ray ot Spo
kane in a six-round main event.
Boxers in all five bouts were
on hand in Klamath Falls Fri
day morning ready for their first
Legion hall contests since wrest
ling ascended to the throne of
popularity long ago.
Brown Gain Favor
Despite the general opinion
favoring Brown to win the main
event, Ray managed to hold the
respect ot ring followers. The
Spokane tighter, reputedly a
stronger bitter than Brown, will
hold a slight weight advantage
over his opponent
Brown has never lost a match
in Klamath Falls. Several months
ago the young man from St.
Paul waded through a series ot
matches here without even taking
a draw. Some were won by knock
outs and the rest by decisions.
Frankle Monroe, Klamath Falls
and Lakeview lightweight, will be
looking for revenge when he
goes against Johnny Shaw, a ne
gro, in the six-round soml-wind-up.
Monroe and Shaw met at
Medtord last Tuesday with the
negro taking the decision.
Shaw Heavier
Shaw is a newcomer to Klam
ath Falls, but Monroe Is well
known for brilliant fights In the
past. The Klamath fighter will
be outweighed by about five
pounds.
Jack Hlbbard, 150, Klamath
Falls, and Cliff Hottenger of Oak
land renew a feud started at
Merrill two weeks ago, when they
blasted their ways through a ten
round main event to a draw. It
was such an outstanding struggle
Mack Llllard, Klamath promoter.
Immediately signed them for the
six round feature at the Legion
hall.
Two preliminaries both four
roundera will send off the card
at 8:30 o'clock.

The Brooklyn Dod tears earned
the new hats that had been prom
ised them for every victory over
the Giants when they staged a
seventh inning uprising that over
came the handicap ot numerous
injuries and beat their New York
nejghbors 6 to 2. It was the first
Dodger triumph lq seven inter-
borough games.
The Cardinals increased their
lead by beating the Reds 3 to 2
in ten innlnge, getting their de
ciding tally when Buster Mills
was hit by one of Paul Derring
er's pitches and scored on Frank
Frlsch's double. Boston gained
its share of fourth place in an off
day, bracketed with the Phillies,
The top-ranking trio ot the
American league went down in
order in a series of slugfests. The
lowly Chicago White Sox rose up
in (he second inning and scored
eight runs oft Bean and Wine
garner to defeat Cleveland's
league-leaders 12 to 5. Zeke Bon
ura's 12th homer and Hal Tros
ky's ninth wound up the afflar.
Washington bunched hits ex
pertly with four New York errors
to rout the second place Yankees
9 to 3. The St Louis Browns
knocked off the Detroit Tigers,
third place holders, 11 to 3, with
the aid of circus swats by three
rookies, Rap Pepper, Harland
Cllft and Al Bejma.
Boston and Philadelphia were

The Pacific , northwest's major
track and field pageant was
awaited by athletes ot the six
northern division coast confer
ence colleges who gathered- here
today for the annual conference
meet
The preliminaries today al
most assumed proportions ot a
separate meet -with qualifying
heats to be held In 11 eventa pre
paratory to the finals in ' the 15
events tomorrow.
A close meet Is expected, with
Washington State, defending
champion and 1034 dual titillst,
favored to win.
While some ot the conference
records appeared safe from the
assault of the group of talented
performers, Colonel Bill Hayward,
University ot Oregon track coach,
looked for new records In four
or live events.
Big George Theodoratus of
Washington State college has
been putting the shot in excess
of the conference record consis
tently. Bobby Parke of Oregon
has bettered the record In the
Javelin.
Edmlston of Washington and
Wagner of Oregon both have cov
ered the two-mile within a few
seconds of the record time of
9:30.4. Peden ot Montana, Shoe
make of Oregon and Plumb of
Washington have been timed In
:21.3 this year, three-tenths of a
second better than the record.
Tbe 440 Is another event in
which close competition might
produce another record K track
conditions are favorable. Bran
son ot Oregon State and Nicholas
of Washington State are two of
the standouts, although lhey have
