BUTTER PRICE
PORTLAND, Feb, 17, PV
Determination of the produce ex
change to maintain Its high
prices on butter despite weakness
here and along the coast general
ly Indicated manipulative action
during the weekend aosalon of
the local body.
Everywhere the market ap
peared to show easlneaa and a
slight overplus of butter along
the coaat. Thore seemed to be
anxiety to aell rather than to
bold for full prices. Tbe ex
change here went through its
normal functlona of doing noth
ing to reflect aupply and demand.
There waa no change In the
price on butterfat for the weekend.
Thore was again a general lack
of price change in the egg mark
et for the weekend. On all mark
ets prlcos were steady with tbe
