One of the major difficul
ties of promoting wrestling,
ri Mack Llllard has come to
know, arises from the lmpossl-
... blllty ot making rematches.
There have been soma excel
lent heavyweight bouts since
Llllard artved In Klamath
Falls, but no two wrestlers
'.' have been brought together for
, a second show.
i The best matches, according
; to publio taste, are the wild
est ones, and no wrestler likes
to repeat a rough battle. Lll-
' lard has tried to bring athletes
together for a second match,
bnt each time the wrestlers
-, refused.
, Klamath Falls for a match next
Friday, probably would be
willing to meet Karaslck. Wolfe
lost to the Hon several weeks
ago. Karaslck, however, had so
much trouble winning he al-
. ready has told Llllard he won't
meet the Texan.
It's possible ' Llllard will
match Wolfe against' Dr.'- De
Vora, the man who held Kara
slck to a draw.
The Klamath promoter has
developed the had habit of
misspelling wrestlers' names.
When a new athlete arrives he
Immediately protests -the man
ner his title has been twisted.
Here are a few examples of
the matchmaker's affronts:
Dr. Nap OeVora who was
first introduced to Kalamath
Falls as Dr. lap Devore.
Frankle Schroll. ' .He ob-,
Jetted to Frank School.
. Rocky Brooks. ' He ..disliked
Rocky-Burke. . ... .
. Jack Kogat, not Jack KugaL
' ' Howard Hdbson, always
-' eager to bring his Southern
. Oregon Normal school teams to
Klamath Falls, ,1s considering
a new series here after he
meets the Waldorf team on
Tuesday inght Hobson be
lieves Klamath people would
enjoy watching the Multnomah
club In action. . " ' ';
The Sonv posslbily because
they 'were a ' little too strong
last season and upset the Uni
versity of- Oregon In ' three
games, have' had trouble in
scheduling college - basketball
teams. Tha Multnomah club,
however, is as niar a college
team ss possible. Some of the
outstanding players from both
Oregon and Oregon State have
fonnd positions on this com
bination, and their strength
in the northwest is indisput
able. -, '
- ' - Klamath's contest with Med
ford next Friday night will be
: the highlight ot the basketball
season. No other game is so
Important to the Pelicans as
this annual clash with the
Tigers.
Klamath slipped over a vic
tory last year, bnt compara
tive strengths indicate, there
is no assurance of repeating
the achievement this season.
If Dwlght French, head
coach, can reduce his Injury
and sick list, then perhaps the
' Klamath youths will win.

Title Battle
Looms for June
NEW YORK. Jan. 13 (AP)
One snappy Interview between
Jack ' Dempsey and Col. John
Reed Kilpatrlck seemed to have
changed the entire heavyweight
situation today and left a Btrong
probability ot a title meeting be
tween Primo Camera and Max
Baer In June.
After Col. Kiipatrick, president
of Madison Sauare Garden, has
chatted with Dempsey and Ancll
Hoffman, Baer's manager. It was
indicated that the prospects ot a
Baer-Carnera bout were not so
dismal after all.
Col. Kiloatrlck seemed satis
fied that an arrangement could
be made even though Camera
now Is tied up with the uaraen
and Baer with Dempsey.
It was regarded as extremely
ImDrobable. however, that Demp-
say would be taken Into a Garden
parnershlp m order to -mase
the bout Garden officials regard
that as a bad precedent to set.-
Carnera already is signed xo
defend his title against Tommy
Loughran at Miami, Feb. 22, and
Baer may return to tne ring snon-
ly for one winter appearance, per
haps against Steve Hamas. The
June battle, ot course, would
hinge upon the outcome of these
two matches.

BURKE TRIUMPH
Two Rough Matches Ex
cite Capacity Crowd
at Legion Hall
Seven hundred parsons lost
themselves In mob excitement
last night as they wltnosscd four
mad wrestlers lu two bouts at
the Legion hall. Al Karaslck
and Rocky Burke, the wildest
athletes ot the quurttt, left the
ring victorious. (
Karaslck, opening his 1934
season In Klamath Falls, defeat
ed Pat Rellly ot Boston In the
main event. Burke, a newcomer
from Victoria, B. C, smashed his
way to a one-tall triumph over
young Bob Stone ot Chicago.
Police Stop Fight
The first match, Stone against
Burke, probably exceeded tbo
main event In thrills. The mojt
stirring piece of wrestling occur
red after Pete Belcastro. referee,
had left the ring. Stone and
Burke then tore after each other
and were not separated uutll the
blue coats of the Klauiuth police
department appeared.
The Russian Lion defended his
claims to tho co-chuninlonshlp of
Klamath county by taking the
last two falls from slugging Pat
Kellly. Rellly stepped Into the
lead In 16 minutes and 38 sec
onds by downing the Russian
with a body slnm. The fall came
after the athletes bad punched,
kicked and kneed desperately for
a quarter ot an hour.
Boston Crab Wins
The favorite hold ot the Lion
evened the match In 12 minutes
and seven seconds. Karsick trap
ped Rellly In a Boston crab hold
after the wrestlers had duplicat
ed their almost unprecedented
roughness.
A body slam gave the Lion
the match Just as he appeared
to be slipping into defeat. Kar
aslck had been dumped to the
floor with a slam and then sud
denly reversed the situation. He
lifted Rellly into the air and
heaved him to the floor. The
Bostonlan was unable to arise
from the pressure ot Karasick's
"eight
Burke took the first and only
fall from Stone In 16 minutes
and tour seconds. The fall came
surprisingly, for Stone was hold
ing his own.
Referee Leaves
For 44 minutes the wrestlors
struggled through the remainder
of the wlndup bout without a
tall, and when the bell rang they
were both out of the ring and
still wrestling.
Belcastro separated them and
brought them back to the arena.
The referee then left tor the
dressing room, and Stone and
Burke started the scrap that de
manded the presence of the
chief, a sergeant and two of
ficers. Monmouth Normal
