hut it had no airplanes. This
mall, which used the first air mail
sumps, was carried by the bal
loon of Prof. King, who came to
town to give a demonstration on
July 4 of that year. The balloon
made the trip from Buffalo to
Newfane. N. Y., a distance ot 35
miles, with the letters.
