Last construction crews on the
Great Northern railroad's new
million dollar grade south of
Bend were removed laat night
by contractors.
Although the grade over the
lava beds is complete, no steel
haa been laid.
Construction work on the
northern line project which ex
tends from Bend 17 miles south
toward Klamath Falls, replacing
the former Shevlln-Hlxon logging
line, waa begun several months
ago. Unconfirmed reports re
ceived at Klamath Falls Tuesday
Indicated that the work was held
np because of heavy snowfalls in
the vicinity of Bend. Workmen
are now laying steel In the Great
Northern yards at Bend.
T. F. Dixon, superintendent of
the Great Northern In Klamath
Falls, Is expected to return Wed
nesday from. Bend where be has
spent several dsys on business.

preme court, written by Chief
Justice Bean, in the case of Earl
Whitlock, administrator of the
estate of S. M. Moreno, deceased.

action was filed against the in

the decision of the lower court
to the state supreme court.
Jack Fensler To
. Be Taken Home
Jack Fensler, of Tule Lake,
aged 11, was able to be moved
to his home Tuesday from Hill
side hospital where he has been
a patient since December 29 when
be wna injured in an automobile
accident.
Jack, with his parents Mr. and
Mrs. E. W. FenBler, was return
ing to Tule Lake early in the
evening, when Fensler, driver of
the car was blinded by the lights
of an on-coming automobile, and
crashed Into the rear of a hay
waiton driven by A. K. McCoy.
At flrt It was feared that
Jack had sustained a fractured
skull, but it developed that the
Injury was a slight brain con
cussion, from which he haa fully
recovered.

ley Irrigation district held a reg
ular meeting last Tuesday after
noon. The moratorium on the
reclamation charges were discussed.

affair was supposed to be a
bard-time party and two of the
members were fined for being
dressed np. A real hard-time
supper, consisting of potatoes,
baked beans and meat loaf was
served at 7:30.
