THE RECORD OF
Changes R. WnHflSaimnc
Republican Candidate for
2 Year Term as County Commissioner
Born in 1879,, near Alder Gulch, Montana.
Educated there.
Engaged in the stock business there, raising
cattle and sheep until 1917 when he sold
. out his ranch, of 700 or 800 acres and all
his stock for a very good price.
At the time he sold out and left Montana he
was one of the largest shippers of cattle in
the state.
Came to Baker county, Oregon in 1918 and
went into the ranching business about 40
miles west of Baker. Was retired from the
cattle business in 1923 by the continued de
pression in that industry. .
Came to Chiloquin, Oregon in 1925. Worked
for wages in the woods the summer of
1925.
Operated a retail lumber ycrd at Chiloquin
under the name of Williams Lumber comp
any, since January 1, 1926.
Started a branch retail lumber yard at Bly,
Oregon, October 1928.
Member board of directors Chiloquin school
district No. 53 two years.
President of the city council of Chiloquin,
Oregon since the incorporation of the town.
Owns his own home in Chiloquin. Married.
Four grown children.
There are 1133 registered voters in East
and West Chiloquin precincts, most of whom
have not lived in the county more than 3
years. We believe one member of the county
court should be a man familiar with our pro
blems, and we arc satisfied with Williams.
