In Klamath Falls we have seen blackguards hired as
"stool pigeons." We have heard of these' men "hi-jack-ing,"
and of demanding "protection" money from their
bootlegging acquaintances.
We recall one instance of an ex-convict whose career
in Klamath as stool pigeon, was brief but exciting. This
ma nturned out to be nothing but a plain highway robber.
He was indicted and "skipped."
Another "under-cover" man was hired by Klamath
authorities for a time. He moved to Lakeview and was j
promptly indicted. Later in Portland, he got into an-:
other scrape, and was indicted there. Where he is now,
we don't know, but obviously he should be behind the
bars. .
So it is that we greet the end of the "stool pigeon"
regime with satisfaction, and look forward to enforce-
