TAKE Of DOTS0N I Local Flash Proves to be Elephant on Hands of Boxing Commission Benny Dotson, boxer who so easily put the skids .under Kid Starkey in bis lost appearance here, is proving a white elephant on the hands of the local boxing commis sion. ,': iBoys who are' able . to give Dot son a stiff argument are unwilling to put in an appearance in the ring with him unless the boxing com mission will agree to deed them the city ball and throw in the Strahoru railroad as part payment.-" '? -. 'Lesser lights show a total lack of interest in the brawl, evidently fig uring a stiff lacing nothing to be sought. In the meantime Jack Crlm and Spec Woods, who will face one an other in the special event, are work ing out daily with good crowds in attendance at the Rex billiard parlor where a good stepping . place his been laid out. Frankle Doyle and Sid Herbert are also stepping into harness for their fracas, and with these two bouts lined up, the. boxing commls- ! sion sees at least a ray of hope In the situation. . - In the meantime, wild wires are winging their way ' through thu countryside and it is hoped that by tomorrow some fighter will be se cured who can stand up to Dotson and still not demand an exorbitant purse.' Spencer Creek, ire-cold and swift ly running stream that tumbles into Klamath river 16 miles west of this city, is literally alive with trout. Clearly visible in the shallow clcr.r water, swarms of fal rainbows scoot up and down the creek. A shadow across the streamiwlll send them in to hysteria. They will break water and nearly throw themselves into tho opposite bank. In their efforts to get away from1 the moving figure on the bank. - Spencer creek'.' nn Ideal flHhing stream. Is closed, however. It Is closed because the game commission has seen fit to preserve it as an egg taking stream, and as such it has proved a great success. Mny Break Record An interview ,t with workmen at tho egg-taking station revealed that 3 million trout eggs had been taken, and that if the 1926 run continued as long as the 1925 run, the 1925 record of four and one-half million eggs would be shattered. The trout were running yesterday afternoon. Closely watching the trap, ono would occasionally soe an agile rainbow scoot into tho en closure and then tear madly around his prison, until ho or she realized that it was to ho avail. 20 Per Cent Loss About a 20 per rent :oss Is ex perienced", in artlf i'lal propagation, It was pointed out yesterday; whoro as natural propagation brings a loss of approximaiely 80 per cont. It is because of I his fact that' egg takipg stations aicd fish hatcheries have ; como into being. Free from thoir .natural enemies, such, as fish thoti prey upon ; the eggs : of the small minnow, thi trout havo four chances out of five to survive. mer. Spawned in the water of a stream, The models promenaded the main and under natural circumstances, floor upon an improvised walk on their chances are but one In five. either side of which seats for at least a portion of the visitors had been arranged. Throughout the revue the Total izers' orchestra furnished murlc and not until It was announced that the revue was over at 5 o'lock did the guests leave. The windows of the , Women's store were unveiled on Friday eve ning at 7:30. ''.i ' ,. Wearing apparel for children mod eled by Murthella Glover caused much favorable comment from the guests. Automobilists who went to Chllo quln yesterday report that the trout run up Spraguo River is just begin ning. Many Klamath Falls folk yes terday were at the dam above Chll oquln, watching the frantic attempts mado by the vanguard of the 1926 run to surmount the swirling waters of the dam. As usual, tho fish ladder's seemed to attract no fish. Upton Meeting Is Set for Tonight Those interested in the candidav of Jay H.
