mens' well. Is expected to be resumed
within the next week or ten days.

it is known in tho oil rields.
The rag line weighs SOoo pounds
according to tests. The lino is be
ing shipped from an eastern ware

here, drilling will resume at the well,
which is now down 2000 feet.
Reguu six years ago, the well has
seen a series of misadventures that
have all but resulted in Its abandon
ment. Its finances were wiped out
when the First State and knvius
bank failed and since that time the
financial burden has rostcd almost
wholly upon the shoulders of Kd

About -three years ago. an excep
tional oil showing was found In the
well anJ substantial offers for i(s
purchase were turned down.
After the oil showing, n wator
strata was penetrated which slowed
up operations. Then the tool were
lost In tha hole and an eleven months
fishing job ensued, the venture be
ing successfully' consummated by
Driller C. E. Randall.'
Equipment at the well coiJsIsts of
a Star rig with (standard derrick. The
hole is now down 2000 feet, with
SVi inch casing to the bottom of the
I hole. A six months under-reaming
job has just been-completed.
The rag line was secured at the
request of Driller C. E. llandall. who
did not want to take chances with a
steel cable, fearing that It might rut
the casing.
Drilling will be resumed when the
rag line arrives and the hole will be
balled dry. If It is found that the
water has been shut off a iteat of the
formation will bo made. '
