THE NEXT NATIONAL BOOM
People are speculating widely over the date of a
possible collapse in the Florida real estate boom and in
what part of our country the next one will occur.
The Cotton Belt extending westward to the Pacific,
the climatic advantages, mountain scenery, citrus fruits
and semi-tropical veeretation all point a golden index
finger to the southwest which embraces an area of
million sauare miles extending: trom tne Kocky moun
tains toward the Pacific and southward to Mexico.
Sensing this condition the city of Oakland. California,
nlans the expenditure of $20,000,000 for harbor and
factory facilities which will make it one of the greatest
manufacturing and distributing centers in the world
Already cotton manufacturing from western grown cot
ton h?V a flourishing start there, not to mention all
linos of general manufacturing, automobiles, radio equip
ment, etc.

Must Justify Itself
"The airplane, first of all, has to justify itself bv
successful flights, day after day.

mastering of the air and then it will have the telling
effect on war.
"War, heretofore, has been localized. 1

armies and navies. With airplanes the war will be
brought into the war makers' back yard.
