J. J. Hoydar, general ages: fo.'
the Spokane, Portland & Seattle

visit to Klamath Falls today. Mr.
Hoydar Is returning from Los An
geles where he spent his vacation
visiting with his brother and friends.
It was Mr. Hodyar who handled the
affairs of the Northera Lines In thi3
territory prior to the hearing at
Portland. Speaking about the rail
railroad situation, Mr. Hodyar said:
"I have been in the south tor
some little time and am not fully
familiar with the railroad question'
at this moment as I would be If
had been on the ground all the time.
However, 1 am quite certain there
hos been no material change. With
the showing made by tho Oregon
Trunk al the Portland hearing as a
guide. I im just as confident as ever
that the Interstate Commerce Com
mission will grant the necessary cer
tificate authorizing the extension
from Bend."

TOWNSITE NEAR
HENLEY VACATED
No City in 18 Years; Property
Holders Tire of Paying
Higher Tax Levy
Eighteen years have passed since
tho Henley townsite was laid out and
approved by Klamath county auth
orities. ' Today the townsite is still just a
site, nothing more. And for that rea
son the property holders of what Is.
or was, known as Henley townsite
joined hands to petition the county
court to vacate the townsite.
Their petition was received and ap
proved by the court and today an of
ficial order was filed with the county
clerk, notifying tlve dignified world
that the Henley townsite Is a thing
oi' the past.
The property holders in their pe
tition held that as long as their
property was designated as a town
site, they were paying more taxes
limn if the property were merely
ranch land.
The property holders were the
Klamath County School district,
i.add & Tilton hank, and Edward
Bloomingcamp, handling the estate
of Ceorgo Rloomlngcamp. deceased.
