LUCKY
(Continued From Pago Ono)
ing when his name was called for
the bout with Tommy Murphy and
he appears to have acted wisely.
Murphy haying all the appearance
of a rapid-fire gun in action. Dum
my Poole substituted for Allen with
out preparation and put up a game,
clever fight, getting a good draw.
Both fighter were tired out at tho
end of the bout. Murphy punished
Poole's body terrifically at the be
ginning of the bout.
Henry Burke, making his second
appearance as a boxer, was handi
capped by a throwu-out right shoul
der and got all the worst of it in
the two rounds ho endured with
Jim Fleming. The feature ot the
bout was Henry's reversion to typo
wbeu he tackled Floming and up
set him for . a loss on the ten-yard
line. Fleming kicked, the crowd
roared, and Burke apologized. This
bout was comedy throughout, for
everyone but Burke.
The Getaway
The village improvident was ob
served .dickering with an automo
bile salesman for an expensive mo
tor. "What do you mean," asked a
candid friend, "by buying u big,
fast car when you can't oven pay
your bills?" -
"That," admitted the improvident,
"is the main reason I am buying a
big. fast car."
